Overview

A 3-hour small-group evening food and drink tour with 14+ tastings, from cold sausages and goulash to lángos and chimney cake, paired with Hungarian wine and pálinka.

This small-group evening tour is designed as a full dinner, with more than 14 flavours to try, so come hungry. Your local guide takes you to street food stalls and boutique eateries most guidebooks miss, explaining Hungarian cuisine along the way. You start at Belvárosi Disznótoros on Károlyi utca, an authentic butcher and grilled-sausage bistro once featured by Anthony Bourdain, to sample cold sausages. Near Kálvin Square a local restaurant serves its speciality goulash, and on Váci utca you stop at traditional stalls for lángos and fresh chimney cake, plus a warming Hungarian surprise. The tour ends at Grinzingi Borózó, a Hungarian-style tavern and winery, with local wines straight from the supplier and a traditional dessert. Alcohol-free substitutes are available.
